Conor and Mom Ignore Autism and the Heat and Have Lots of Killarney Lake Fun

Conor and Mom beat the heat, leave autism behind and enjoy some Killarney Lake fun this morning. In the pictures with his Mom Conor demonstrates once again that autistic kids can be very affectionate and caring. Dad was having fun too taking pics and once in a while (when Conor stopped and waited) catching up.

yes my son is also very affectionate. But many times it is regarded as "behavior" because it can be directed even at a random person who said hi to him, he will go up to them and touch their hand, or kids he sees regularly, are not in to hugging and kissing, especially now that he is 6. It becomes a problem. If only people were more open to affection...

My son Jacob is 8 and he loves nature and he too is very affectionate. Every day at school he hugs all of his teachers and many of his classmates.

I took Jacob on a hike a couple years ago in a heavily wooded area and he loved it. Every once in a while he'll ask if we can go to the forest. I wish it was closer because he really enjoyed himself and so did I.

My son Dustin is 17yrs old. He has a heart of gold. He loves hugs. In fact, when he is feeling anxious a "help me hug" is given.
It is unfortunate, even though he is affectionate. Those hugs now have to be given sparingly.
He is learning about personal space and asks if he could give a hug.
I am the lucky one...cuz I get most of his special hugs!!!
